FAQ

Religion and the game

Introduction

Our game “The Devil’s Face” is a game with a rich story. The visual elements in the game serve to enrich the game experience and enhance the game’s story, and nothing more.

Why does it contain Christian content?

The game script requires our hero, Jonathan, and his brother to be orthodox Christians. The player guides Jonathan through his afterlife, passing through various familiar places as well as parts of the underworld.

Religious symbols are placed in these locations according to the script, but in a way that respects the Christian faith and avoids offense.

To help players who are not familiar with Christian traditions, the game includes explanations in certain parts to help them understand why certain actions are necessary to progress.

Is the game a Christian game?

The game is not a Christian game. Rather, it is a work of fiction that contains some references to reality.

Is the game suitable for deeply religious players?

We do not intend for our game to offend any religion. However, if you consider yourself deeply religious, The Devil’s Face may not be suitable for you.

Does the game promote the Christian faith?

Our game, The Devil’s Face, does not attempt to promote the Christian faith or any other religion. While playing the game, you should keep in mind that you are the hero, Jonathan, and that what you experience in the game is what he experiences in his afterlife. However, it is important to remember that you are just playing a game and that it is not meant to be taken seriously in any way.

Secret rooms and Encrypted pages

Introduction

In our game, “The Devil’s Face,” there are some secret rooms that contain encrypted pages. You may also find an encrypted page in a normal room. These secret rooms and encrypted pages do not affect the game flow, so you can simply ignore them and complete the game normally.

Why do secret rooms exist?

Secret rooms exist in the game to keep its dark secrets hidden. We made the decision not to include them in the game flow in order to allow players to ignore them, but also to allow curious players to discover them.

Content of Encrypted Pages

The encrypted pages contain material related to the Book of Demons.

Can pages be decrypted?

The material contained within these pages is encrypted with multiple layers. Although difficult, in general, encrypted information can be decrypted.

Are the pages related to each other?

In our game “The Devil’s Face”, nothing is randomly placed!

Are there any achievements associated with finding secret rooms?

Yes, there are! If you complete the game and find that you haven’t unlocked all the achievements, it means you’ve skipped the secret rooms!

The Book of Demons

Introduction

Our game, The Devil’s Face, combines fiction with real events. It is based on the beliefs of a pagan sect in Greece and draws from their book of demons to explore the afterlife.

The Real Book of Demons

The Book of Demons is a real book that the sect believes was authored by Anubis himself. It’s a powerful book that the sect keeps hidden. The book describes the descent of the human soul into the afterlife and provides access to rituals and spells that can allow its owner to communicate with the dead, as well as malevolent entities.

The Book of Demons in the Game

In our game, the Book of Demons serves as Jonathan’s guide to the afterlife. It helps his soul descend towards either redemption or eternal punishment. Although some of the text may seem irrelevant at first, rest assured that nothing in the game is random. Ultimately, the Book of Demons is about Jonathan and his journey through the afterlife.

Connecting the game story with the book of demons

Unable to accept his brother’s death in a car accident and feeling responsible for not being able to save him, Jonathan searched for ways to contact his brother in the afterlife and ask for forgiveness.

During his search, he found the Book of Demons, which he believed would help him achieve his goal. However, things did not turn out as he expected. The ceremonies he performed brought him into contact with the devil himself, ultimately leading him to commit suicide.

As the last thing he did while alive was to be guided by the Book of Demons, it continues to guide him in the afterlife as well.
